U-Miami & Ohio State Mascots
The University of Miami and Ohio State mascot sculptures were built to celebrate the 90th Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic between both competing teams. These sculptures stand 6’8” tall and use over 100 Goodyear tires each. The inner structures were hand carved out foam and steel armature was welded inside. Once secured, the foam was fiberglassed to add rigidity and give support to the thousands of staples and screws which support the tires. The tires were all hand painted and clear coated. These sculptures were commissioned by Goodyear Tires and will be displayed at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, TX for the Cotton Bowl. Goodyear will donate the sculptures to the Universities once the games are completed.
