USC’s Tommy Trojan

This sculpture was built to celebrate the 87th Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic between both competing teams, USC and Tulane. This sculpture stands 7’2” tall and uses over 120 Goodyear tires. The inner structure was hand carved out of pink insulation foam, then a steel armature was welded inside. Once secured, the foam was fiberglassed to add rigidity and give support to the thousands of staples and screws which support the tires. The tires were all hand painted and clear coated. This sculpture was commissioned by Goodyear Tires and will be displayed at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, TX. Goodyear will donate the sculpture to USC after the Game on January 2nd, 2023.
