Tripod The Alligator

I created a life-sized Alligator resembling ‘Tripod’ a famous 3-legged gator that resides on the TPC Louisiana Golf Course. This sculpture was commissioned by Zurich Insurance group, and part of the 2023 Zurich Classic PGA tour event. This sculpture was made out of recycled tires and stainless steel. I first carved the entire form out of pink insulation foam. I then welded in steel armature and fiberglassed the entire body. I then used over 10,000 Stainless steel staples and screws to secure over 150 recycled tires to the form. Once complete, I power washed all the tires and shined them to look new. This sculpture will permanently reside on TPC Louisiana golf course.
