Ford GT40
The 1965 Ford GT40 is carved from a solid block of Honduran mahogany with accents of curly maple and walnut tires. Measuring 20 inches long, 9 inches wide, and 5 inches tall, every detail was meticulously carved by hand, with the vast majority of the work completed using traditional chisels.
This is the most detailed sculpture I have created to date, and every effort was made to capture the iconic race car as accurately as possible. It also marks the first automobile I have ever carved, making it a significant milestone in my work. The body was carefully hollowed from the underside, allowing the seat and center console to be individually crafted and inlaid before the sculpture was sealed. Each wheel is fitted with two ball bearings, making the wheels fully functional.
This was such a fun sculpture to create and the start of a new chapter in my work.
