Maximus - Gladiator

Carved entirely from a solid block of beautiful English Walnut, this life-sized sculpture replicates the iconic helmet worn by Maximus in the movie Gladiator.

To capture the true essence of the armor, the solid wood was completely hollowed out, and each individual spike was meticulously hand-carved and mounted to the surface. It is mounted on a custom-welded, rustic mild steel stand that perfectly contrasts the natural warmth of the walnut grain. Creating this piece was an incredibly fun process and serves as my personal tribute to a cinematic masterpiece.
